Things You Can Do To Leave Office Worry-free

There are times that working people get too busy in the office within the day, but  still end up with many unfinished tasks. Some tend to bring their work at home or even decide to finish their work the next day, which can waste a lot of time.

This mostly affects working parents who need a lot of time for their family at home. According to a post from Fast Company, Time Management expert and author of the book "Doing the Right Things Right: How the Effective Executive Spends Time," Laura Stack said, it is very likely for working people to extend hours in the office after 5 p.m. if they are disorganized.

Stack said, "People are working far too long and far too hard because they are inefficient, disorganized, and waste time during the day." Here are few things that a working parent should remember or do:

Be on time.

This is the very first thing that a working person should remember. If you start your work early then there is a big chance that you will finish the work early. According to Chron, the office operates as one and works smoothly if everyone is punctual on their assigned tasks.

Check in with a co-worker or with your boss.

Someone in the office should know that you are at work. This is to keep them updated on their work or to keep them reminded of some important things regarding your job. If there are deadlines to meet, they can remind you of it.

Do your most important work first.

Prioritizing of work is really important. Work on things that are most important because this is what really counts in your work. If you start with the low-value things, there is a possibility that you will start late with the important things, says career coach Lea Mcleod. This can result to overtime in the office especially if the task can't be delayed.

Evaluate your to-do-list.

Check if you are on the right track for the day and make sure you meet your timeline. Anita Attridge, known as a career coach said, "If you aren't satisfied with where you are, plan what you need to do and when you will do it so you don't get further behind." This will surely save you time.

Plan your work for tomorrow.

According to a report from Mail Online, Dr. Brandon Smit from BSU in Indiana who made a study of "Planning unfinished work for tomorrow" said that your brain will keep reminding you of the work that's undone. Smit tried an experiment with a few group of employees and encouraged them to plan on how to finish the work for tomorrow and the result showed that these employees were detached from their work more effectively.
