'Penny Dreadful' Season 3 Release Date, Cast, News & Update: Eva Green's Vanessa Ives Will Face True Evil, Cut-Wife To Return As Another Character, Show Spain-Bound
"Penny Dreadful" promises to take a few exciting turns in Season 3. The psychological thriller series, which stars "Casino Royale" actress Eva Green as Vanessa Ives, "James Bond" Timothy Dalton as Sir Malcolm Murray and "Pearl Harbor" actor Josh Hartnett as Ethan Chandler, will be taking a few scenes to a different continent. "Penny Dreadful" will also bring in new and returning characters.
The Daily Mail reports that "Penny Dreadful" Season 3 will see Eva Green confined to a psychiatric unit in an asylum. A teaser "Penny Dreadful" video shows Green as a distressed, tear-stained Vanessa Ives in her padded cell. "You think you know evil," Ives said at the teaser's end.
In the meantime, TV Series Finale reports that Hartnett and Dalton will make their way to the city of Almería in Andalusia, Spain with their new allies, "Avatar" actor Wes Studi as Kaetenay and "Burnt" actress Sarah Greene who guest stars as Hecate. Kaetenay is a Native American who shares a strong connection with Ethan. The group is on a special mission to defeat evil forces.
An earlier report by the Daily Mail placed "Penny Dreadful" regulars Billy Piper, who plays Lily Frankenstein, and " Snow Falling on Cedars" actor Reeve Carney, who plays Dorian Gray working on "Penny Dreadful" Season 3 episode scenes at the Dublin Castle in Ireland. The location is a popular tourist spot and is expected to lend visual strength to the scenes.
Showtime revealed that fan favorite Patti LuPone who was seen as the Cut-Wife in "Penny Dreadful" Season 2 will return as American psychiatrist Dr. Seward in "Penny Dreadful" Season 3. LuPone's character is an unconventional practitioner who will attempt to help Vanessa Ives. Fans will be pleased to know that LuPone is now a regular in the show.
"Toast of London" actor Shazad Latif will be seen as Dr. Henry Jekyll, "Dexter" actor Christian Camargo as zoologist Dr. Alexander Sweet and "From the Madding Crowd" actress Jessica Barden as Justine in "Penny Dreadful" Season 3. The show premieres on May 1, 2016.
