'Sherlock' Season 4 Air Date, Characters, News & Update: New Season Starts Filming In April – Know More Here

The success of "Sherlock" TV series is undeniable that fans are now so excited to have a glimpse in its upcoming Season 4. The hype for the much-anticipated BBC series boosted after reports claiming that it is set to start filming April this year have made surfaced the Internet.

While several fans are excited for the return of "Sherlock," it was already confirmed that most of its characters will also make a comeback, including Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock Holmes), Amanda Abbington (Mary Watson), Jonathan Aris (Anderson) and Louise Brealey (Molly Hooper). Moreover, there were also reports saying that Tom Hiddleston will be added as cast to portray the character of Sherlock's third brother.

Known for his villain roles in "Thor" and "War Horse," Tom is someone and something that fans are truly looking forward to see in the "Sherlock" Season 4. However, it remains unknown whether or not he will be playing a villainous role who will cause chaos in the upcoming series.

As for its plot, several fans have been wondering how "Sherlock" Season 4 is different from the past three seasons. While the production team has been very successful in keeping things under wraps, writer-producer Steven Moffat hinted some shocking revelations about the forthcoming season.

Steven divulged in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that, while the first season was about the beginning of friendship, the second was about the formative stages of love, loss and fear and the third term was about the good days, avid fans should expect more fun in "Sherlock" Season 4.  "There's a lot of humor in Sherlock Holmes, and it's ignored in a lot of adaptations. [Season 4] is going to be... I suppose you'd say... consequences," he said.

"It's consequences. Chickens come to roost. It's dark in some ways-obviously it's great fun and a Sherlock Holmes romp and all that-but there's a sense of... things... coming back to bite you," Steve added. "It's not a safe, sensible way to live. It's hilarious and exhilarating some days, but some days it's going to be bloody frightening."
