'Star Wars Episode VIII' Release Date, News & Update: Will Obi Wan Reprise His Role?

The anticipated movie, "Star Wars Episode VIII," is now being flooded with fan theories and spoilers. In fact, enthusiasts of the epic opera franchise are now waiting if Obi-Wan Kenobi is going to reprise his role.

According to Star Wars News Net, Ewan McGregor is making a comeback as the legendary Jedi Master. And aside from his return, Movie Pilot  added that the new characters, Rey and Finn, might join the force of the dark side.

It was also said that there's a big possibility that the Jakku scavenger is Kenobi's decedent. In fact, there are swirling rumors that she's a Jedi, who's undergoing a training, as her Force opened up sooner than later, which was the reason why they have defeated Kylo Ren.

However, it was not revealed why Rey cannot remember anything from her past as her story is about to unfold on "Star Wars Episode IX." Meanwhile, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" director J.J. Abrams unveiled that he knows a little about the role played by Daisy Ridley.

But, Entertainment Weekly reported the 49-year-old producer doesn't want to say anything about it and spoil the "Episode VII" as Rian Johnson would be the one to direct it. "Obviously, it's not for me to talk about in this moment because this is Rian's story to continue now," he said.

"The last thing I'm going to do is reveal something that he would be upset about. I want to make sure that Rian gets the courtesy that he showed me," the writer added. "One would think keeping a secret this monumental would be difficult for just about anyone in the world, but not for me."

To recall, it has been known that Abrams is the same director who kept the antagonists of "Cloverfield," "Super 8," and "Star Trek into Darkness" a secret.
