‘Empire’ Season 2 Spoilers & Updates: Tension Rises Between Lucious and Jamal

"Empire" Season 2 is still over a month away from its return to the small screens but spoilers hint that tension is about to rise between Lucious and Jamal. Will they be able to get over their personal issues to save Empire Entertainment from Camilla and Mimi?

This article contains spoilers. Read on if you want to learn more about this story.

"Empire" Season 2 spoilers from Carter Matt reveal that Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) will find himself having a hard time dealing with the fact that he lost to his son, Jamal (Jussie Smollett), after competing for the same award.

"We all know that one single award doesn't mean everything. But it certainly symbolizes to Lucious and Jamal the whole story of their relationship - the story of children surpassing their parents, of being the child of a famous and hugely successful artist," executive producer Ilene Chaiken said, according to Carter Matt.

It looks like both Lucious and Jamal will have to fight with their own personal issues and their relationship issues as father and son if they want to go on a united front against Mimi and Camilla.

The publication further noted that Jamal may use this opportunity to strengthen their bond as a family in order to get Empire Entertainment back in their hands.

Mimi recently named Camilla as the new head of the company and it is definitely interesting to see what the latter will do, especially after hearing from Lucious in "Empire" Season 1 that she was not good enough for his son, Hakeem.

Aside from these battles that Lucious has to conquer in "Empire" Season 2, TVLine has reported on the addition of Morocco Omari as a major recurring role in the Fox drama.

Omari will play the role of Tariq Cousins, an FBI agent who is "extremely bright and supremely confident - he never shows his hand, but doesn't hide his intentions."

"Empire" Season 2 returns on Mar. 30, 2016 on Fox.
