Ronda Rousey Refuses to Accept Defeat: Former UFC Champ Beats Suicide, 'Road House' Star Will Launch FTA Clothing Line

When Ronda Rousey gave up her UFC title to Holly Holm after Rousey's defeat in November, the celebrity fighter went on a two-month hiatus from the limelight. Rousey's loss to Holly Holm came as a shock to the star and her fans. Eventually, Rousey even questioned her own existence.

CNN reports that Ronda Rousey opened up to TV show host Ellen DeGeneres during her appearance in Ellen and spoke about how she dealt with her defeat. The period immediately after was the roughest for the former UFC title holder.

"Honestly ... I was sitting in the corner [of the post-fight medical room] and was like, 'What am I anymore if I'm not this?' " Rousey said. "I was literally sitting there thinking about killing myself. In that exact second, I'm like, 'I'm nothing. What do I do anymore?"

Rousey's defiant, no-surrender attitude kicked in, however, and the UFC star rallied internally and emotionally. She took stock of the reasons she had to go on living outside of her UFC life. At the top of her list is having a family and a life with her UFC fighter boyfriend, Travis Browne.

Rousey kept busy, signing up for a remake of bouncer film "Road House," which originally starred "Dirty Dancing" actor Patrick Swayze and was shown in theaters in 1989. Rousey also filed for trademarks to FTA, which will apparently serve as her trademark for her clothing and merchandise lines. Rousey's calendar also included a shoot for the Sports Illustrated 2016 Swimsuit Issue, where Rousey donned a much talked-about body paint swimsuit.

Talking about her rematch with Holly Holm for the UFC title, Ronda Rousey candidly expressed her reflections. "Everyone has their moment of picking themselves off the floor," Rousey said. "I really do believe that I'm still undefeated. Because being defeated is a choice. Everyone has losses in their life, but I choose to always be undefeated."

RollingStone reports, however, that Rousey's return to the Octagon will have to take second place to "Road House." Rousey emphatically said that because she gave her word to do the "Road House" remake after her fight with Holly Holm in November last year, she has to keep her word.

Rousey is also set to star in "Mile 22" with Mark Wahlberg and "Do Nothing Bitches" with Tina Fey. Share your thoughts with us in the comment box below.
