MWC 2016 News & Update: Sony Launch Three Xperia Smartphones with X Series

Sony surprised everyone at the Mobile World Congress 2016 at Barcelona for introducing three new Xperia smartphones. The President and CEO of Sony Mobile Communications Hiroki Totoki unveiled the high-end Xperia X Performance, the Xperia X, and the mid-range Xperia XA at the low-key press conference.

According to Phandroid, Xperia X Performance has a brushed metal finish on the back that has 5-inch 1080p display powered by Snapdragon 820 processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage expandable with Micro SD slot up to 200GB. It, too, has a 23-megapixel rear camera and 13-megapixel front camera with 2,700mAh battery with Qnovo "adaptive charging" and Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 with 5.5 hours battery life.

Morover, Xperia X has wider bezels on the side and a cutout on the bottom bezel. It is equipped with 5-inch 1080p display powered by Snapdragon 650 processor with 3GB of RAM and 23-megapixel rear camera and 13-megapixel front camera with predictive autofocus. It also has 32GB internal storage expandable with Micro SD slot up to 200 GB and 2,620mAh battery with Qnovo "adaptive charging."

Lastly, Xperia XA has narrow and small bezels on the sides of the display with 5-inch 720p display MediaTek MT6755 processor and 2GB of RAM. It carries 13-megapixel front camera and 8-megapixel front camera.

It also has 16GB internal storage that can be expandable with Micro SD slot that can go up to 200 GB. It has 5.5 hours battery life with its 2,300mAh battery with Qnovo "adaptive charging" and MediaTek PumpExpress+ 2.0.

Meanwhile, Digital Trend added that the new Xperia phones are the most pleasant and handy smartphone Sony has ever produced. Also, every Android user is already familiar with the use of their phone, but they just added a customizable app menu and search box in the middle of the screen.

They are, too, all carrying fingerprint sensor on its power button on the right side. The Xperia phones will be available in White, Graphite Black, Lime Gold and Rose Gold, but Totoki didn't reveal further details about its summer release on any countries or pricing.
