This may not be new to us but surely most of the parents in this generation knows the toy blocks. Toy blocks are very simple toys yet really beneficial in children.

1.       Creative thinking skills

A child's brain is full of ideas and toy blocks are perfect for it. A child can do whatever they want with toy blocks. These come with different colors and sizes so they will learn on how to sort, match and group objects. They can build anything out of it and the only limit is their imagination. This will develop the child's creativity by building the blocks out of his creative imagination as posted in Notes on Parenting page.

2.       Spatial Skills

Children who love playing toy blocks by building anything can develop good spatial skills. Once they understand the spatial relation among objects, they can create sophisticated structures out of the blocks. If your child shows interest in building things, you have a potential engineer.

3.       Social skills

When playing in groups, children can bombard different ideas in constructing one big structure. They are able to help each other and they will learn on how to cooperate in a group. Children who plays with others can develop good quality friendship and they can explore new emotions.

4.       Physical skills

This is one of the benefits in playing toy blocks. This develops a child's motor skills by holding, picking up, arranging the blocks. They will learn on how to use their hands and fingers properly and this can also develop the muscles in their hands. Playing blocks also improves the coordination of eyes and hands especially those babies under 1 year.
