"Person of Interest" Season 5 spoilers from the cast reveal that Reese, Finch, Root and the rest of the team will face struggles as a group and as individuals. Speaking with Yahoo! TV, Amy Acker shared that Root will continue to feel torn between Shaw and the Machine.

"That's been a struggle because they are both priorities to her," Acker shared. "At the end of last year, she ultimately had to decide that if she didn't do everything to save the Machine, there's no purpose to saving Shaw. That's kind of what point we're at: Without the Machine, there's no happiness in the world anyway."

Does this mean Root will once again have to choose between the Machine and Shaw?

Acker, however, admitted that she hopes to see a happy ending for Root and Shaw. When asked about a possible ending for "POI" Season 5, Acker hoped to see Root and Shaw share a family with the Machine, Bear and Shaw's twins.

Reese will also have his own share of struggles. According to Jim Caviezel, Reese will have a hard time moving on from Carter. Finch will also realize that he has stepped over the line that he has drawn between himself and the Machine.

International Business Times also reported that "Person of Interest" Season 5 may be the show's series finale. Rumors surrounding the show's cancellation began when CBS ordered to reduce the episode count from the usual 22 to 13. The release date of the upcoming season was also pushed to a later date, which fueled speculations that the show is headed to its last.

"Person of Interest" Season 5 will premiere sometime this spring on CBS.
