'Predator 4' Release Date, News & Update: Shane Black Film Gets Release Date

The Predator film franchise has long been a beloved horror brand that has tapped into its own niche of fans in the industry. With its last installment, "Predators," dating as far back as 2010, 20th Century Fox has finally announced that "Predator 4," entitled "The Predator," will be coming in 2018.

The Predator has long been a beloved character, since its first introduction in 1987 in the film, "Predator." Not only that, but the Predator has also garnered even more popularity thanks to its crossover films in the "Alien" films.

Many already knew as early as 2014 that a new installment for the "Predator" franchise would be coming to continue the extraterrestrial's story. But it wasn't until recently when fans saw a huge development in the upcoming film, "The Predator."

Earlier this month, a teaser photo was shared on the official "Predator" Facebook page. After seeing how much fans responded with excitement for an upcoming sequel, "The Predator" release date was announced - possibly to continue the hype around the fourth installment of the "Predator" franchise.

Here we go again, bro.

"The Predator" will be written by Fred Dekker and Shane Black of "Iron Man 3." Although no confirmations have been made, many have been lead to believe that Black will also take the helms and serve as a director on "The Predator," reports ComicBook.

As for the story behind "The Predator," details are still being kept mum. However, CinemaBlend reports that Shane Black claimed that the fourth "Predator" installment is not a reboot.

Instead of beginning with a brand new story, Shane Black is looking to write "The Predator" in such a way that it can fit well into the mythology presented in the original trilogy.

The fourth "Predator" film installment has a release date of March 2, 2018. Stay tuned for more updates regarding "The Predator."
