‘Pokemon Sun’ ‘Pokemon Moon’ Release Date, Trailer, News & Update: 3 Things You Didn’t Know About This Upcoming Nintendo Game [VIDEO]

Several fans are now excited for the release of the newly-announced "Pokémon Sun" and "Pokémon Moon" games. The official announcement of the upcoming games comes to no surprise as the Pokémon Company is celebrating its 20th year this 2016. However, before you experience the new and forthcoming "Pokémon Sun" and Pokémon Moon" games, here are the things you need to know:

"Pokémon Sun" and "Pokémon Moon" release date

Pokémon Company and Nintendo announced Friday, February 26, during a Nintendo Direct livestream that the two new Pokémon games will be released late in 2016. IGN reported that "Pokémon Sun" and "Pokémon Moon" are going to be the second generation of Nintendo's original Pokémon titles for the Nintendo 3DS. These two upcoming games are successors of "Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y" games that were released in 2013.

"Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon are the next-generation entries in the popular Nintendo monster-collecting RPG franchise. Gotta catch 'em all!" IGN wrote on its website.

"Pokémon Sun" and "Pokémon Moon" versions

IGN revealed "Pokémon Sun" will be released in four versions: U.S. version, Japan version, U.K. version and Australia version. All of these versions will be released in the fourth quarter of 2016.

Though it is highly possible that "Pokémon Moon" will be also be released in the same versions as the "Pokémon Sun," no official word has been made public yet.

"Pokémon Sun" and "Pokémon Moon" features

It has been reported that one of the main features of the upcoming "Pokémon Sun" and "Pokémon Moon" games is its Pokémon transfer. "Nintendo also announced the Virtual Console versions of the original Pokemon games will now allow for Pokemon transfers," IGN shared in a report. "In other words, Pokemon caught or traded in Red, Yellow, and Blue versions on the 3DS Virtual Console will be transferable to new iterations of the games, including Sun and Moon, via the Pokebank."

With this feature, one can one can now train his or her own Pokémon and bring it into the modern day. However, up until now, it isn't sure yet whether or not this feature will be available for Gameboy, Gameboy Advance and higher versions.
