Apple MacBook Pro 2016, Macbook Air 2016 Release Date, Specs, Price & Update:: When To Buy According to Projected Release Dates

Based on projections of future versions and upgrades of Apple notebooks, experts are making some buy-timing recommendations.

According to Forbes, most of the Apple MacBooks use currently Broadwell processors. The upcoming Apple next generation of notebooks expected to come on the market soon will move on a new Intel microarchitecture. Skylake processors will bring a host of improvements focusing on graphics performance and battery-life extension.

The 15-inch MacBook Pro Retina 2016 is expected to come on the market at anytime in the coming months starting from March. Experts are recommending consumers to "wait-to-buy." As noted by MacRumor's Buyer's Guide, due to Intel processor delays the MacBook Pro Retina update schedule has been also delayed for the past two years.

The 15-inch MacBook Pro Retina still uses Haswell processors after was last updated internally in May last year. It is almost certain that a processor update to the new Intel Skylake is going to come soon. And since both the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro Retina feature the same physical design since 2012, a chassis change is also expected.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro Retina 2016 is also expected anytime starting in March. Experts recommend "wait-to-buy" but it would also be a good deal getting a heavily-discounted Broadwell 13-inch MacBook Pro Retina. According to CNET, the existing 13-inch MacBook Pro Retina has a solid Retina display and good battery life, so it wouldn't be a bad deal.

For the 13-inch MacBook Air, experts recommend buyers to wait for the upcoming model. The MacBook Air line hasn't seen a physical makeover since the year 2010. Despite its low-resolution display, the current Broadwell MacBook Air continues to get decent reviews due to its good battery life. However, there are many changes expecteded in the upcoming model beyond just the processor.

It has even been rumored that the Air brand will be "phasing out." If this is the case it might be a good chance to get a MacBook Air at steep discounts in the future.
