'Toy Story 4' Cast, Plot Details & News: Cast Officially Set; Film To Focus On Buzz & Jessie's Romance? Details Here!

The production of "Toy Story 4" is underway and its main actors, Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Joan Cusack, are all back at the studio to do voice recordings for their characters - Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Jessie. Although the plot details are kept under wraps, there's a strong buzz going around that the film will revolve around Buzz and Jessie's romance.

In August 2015, John Lasseter from Disney confirmed that the next installment to "Toy Story" will be an entirely different plot that has no connection to the previous films. He hinted that it will involve a love story between Woody and Bo Peep. "Bo's returned for Toy Story 4. Woody and Buzz head out to find Bo. It's a very, very emotional story, and it's very fun doing a story about [those two characters]," he said per IGN.

However, MNR suggested Woody's sidekick, Buzz Lightyear will also get a love story angle in "Toy Story 4" with Jessie. It should be noted that Jessie caught Buzz's eye as early as their first meeting in "Toy Story 2" and Jessie has always shown her fondness for the space commander. It was suggested that Jessie and Buzz became a couple in "Toy Story 3," when they danced with each other at the end of the movie. The fourth movie should explore the new dynamics to their relationship.

Rashida Jones and Will McCormack helped write the script to "Toy Story 4," which Lasseter stressed will be a romantic comedy. "It will not put much focus on the interaction between the characters and children. I think it will be a very good movie," he said, per Coming Soon.

Meanwhile, also set to return for the fourth movie are Annie Potts, who will lend her voice to Bo Peep, Bonnie Hunt for Dolly, Jodi Benson for Barbie, and Don Rickles and Estelle Harris who play Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head. The newest addition to the cast is Patricia Arquette. However, who the actress is voicing has not been divulged by Disney, The Wrap reported.

"Toy Story 4" is expected to hit theaters June 15, 2018.
