'Jurassic World 2' Release Date, News & Update: Sequel Will Have a New Protagonist?

Chris Pratt's "Jurassic World" was a worldwide box office success, leading to the production of its sequel, "Jurassic World 2." However, according to reports, the second installment of the film will feature a new protagonist.

There are rumors that "Jurassic World 2" will feature a new leading role, which will give way to the possibility of a different storyline.Bryce Dallas Howard's character, Claire, is rumored to be the hero of "Jurassic World 2,"

If this is indeed true, "Jurassic World 2" will be told from the scientist's perspective. The story will reveal how the world will be like if the dinosaurs start to dominate the planet. Moreover, there's a possibility that the upcoming installment of the "Jurassic Park" film series will no longer be set in a theme park.

"It won't be just a bunch of dinosaurs chasing people on an island. That'll get old real fast," director Colin Trevorrow explained. "This isn't always going to be limited to theme parks, and there are applications for this science that reach far beyond entertainment."

Moreover, Dr. Henry Wu, the geneticist that recreated the dinosaurs in the entire "Jurassic Park" media, hints that there will be emerging companies that will also create their own relic creatures. Trevorrow explains that it is because of the use of dinosaurs as military weapons.

"When you look back at nuclear power, and how that started, the first instinct was to weaponize it, and later on we found it could be used for energy," Trevorrow added. "What if there are 15 different entities around the world who can make a dinosaur?"

Meanwhile, with the claim of new protagonist for "Jurassic World 2," the sequel will surely have a different plot twist. "Jurassic World 2" is slated to hit cinemas in July 2018.
