'Guardians of the Galaxy' 2 Release Date, News & Update: Sylvester Stallone to Join the Cast

Fans of the movie, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," are now anticipating that Sylvester Stallone is going to join the superhero film's cast. The 69-year-old star is spotted in the area where the upcoming "Guardians of the Galaxy" installment is filming at the Pinewood Studio in Georgia.

Stallone was seen holding what looked like a folder of scripts while leaving the Atlanta Hotel, per the New York Daily News. The said lodge is the same place where the entire stars of "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" are staying.

In fact, Stallone was also caught riding the car usually used by "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" lead star Chris Pratt. However, Marvel Studios is keeping things under wraps as the company has not yet issued a comment on the rumor.

If the speculation is indeed true, Cinema Blend notes that Stallone will be the second action movie icon that will be seen on "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." It was previously reported that Kurt Russell is also going the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" family.

Now, many are expecting that Russell and Stallone will be seen together. They will join other "Guardians of the Galaxy" newcomers such as Tommy Flanagan, Pom Klemetieff, Elizabeth Debicki and Chris Sullivan.

Meanwhile, fans will still see their favorite "Guardians of the Galaxy" stars such as Pratt, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan and Dave Bautista. All of them will reprise their roles in the said film.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" director James Gunn is keeping details of the film unknown, but he continuously treats his followers a glimpse of what is happening on the set. The director recently shared a behind-the-scene photo of the entire cast's rehearsal on his Instagram page. "Using Bautista as an example of good acting during rehearsals," he captioned the image.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is set to be released on May 5, 2017.
