Eminem 'The Slim Shady' Album Re-Issue: Rapper to Release His 1999 LP on Casette Tape

The real slim shady himself is back! Eminem announced on Sunday via Facebook that he will re-release his 1999 hit album "The Slim Shady LP" in cassette tape format.

"Cassette reissue coming soon," Eminem wrote on his Facebook post together with a 15-second video of the upcoming LP. These days, the usual versions of records are released in CD or DVD, but the 43-year-old rapper wants to do it differently, per Inquistr.

Eminem's announcement surprised everyone while some wondered if the relaunched "The Slim Shady LP" will have something new to offer. Hence, the cassette tape format is an unusual bid that some other music artists haven't thought of.

Moreover, Metro UK reports that fans of Eminem are not pleased with the news as they are looking for something new from the artist. In fact, one of his supporters tweeted Eminem saying, "we need new s***."

Meanwhile, others are astounded and puzzled where to find a cassette player to play the reissued "The Slim Shady LP" tape. Eminem fans even used the hashtag #Firstworldproblems on Twitter to address the cassette tape release.

Billboard noted that Eminem's "The Slim Shady LP" made noise when it was released on Feb. 23, 1999. The album quickly gained traction and landed the number two spot on Billboard 200 that time.

"The Slim Shady LP" has Eminem's greatest hits like "My Name Is," "Just Don't Give a F***," "Guilty Conscience" and many more. Meanwhile, the famous father-of-one is keeping the limelights low, but he's set to be back with a number of performances.

Eminem will be seen performing again in three upcoming South American Lollapalooza festivals. He wiil first perform in Sao Paulo, Brazil on March 12, Buenos Aires, Argentina on March 18 and Santiago, Chile on March 19.
