'Gears of War 4' News & Update: Game Expected to Be Mind-Blowing

The upcoming "Gears of War 4" for Xbox One was warmly welcomed by Xbox marketing executive Aaron Greenberg, saying that the upcoming title will be mind-blowing. The soon-to-be-released third person shooter game was introduced by The Coalition producer Rod Fergusson.

According to Game Spot, Greenberg believed that "Gears of War 4" is in "very good hands" with The Coalition team. In fact, he said his "mind was blown" when he had a glimpse of the game and even teased its upcoming beta.

However, people behind "Gears of War 4" are keeping things under wraps even though the title is expected to roll out in the coming months. The game is set to be released this fall. But, fans need to play the "Gears of War Ultimate Edition" on Xbox One before they could have the "early access" privilege.

Additionally, Xbox executive Phil Spencer recently hinted that "Gears of War 4" is continuously making "stunning" development. In fact, Fergusson also added that the upcoming game has a "graphical showcase" for Xbox One.

Meanwhile, Epic Games started to slam Microsoft for trying to control the entire PC Games in the market. Tim Sweeney, co-founder of the said studio and creator of the renowned "Gears of War" game series, charged Redmond corporation for trying to dominate and manage the sale of PC games.

"[Microsoft is] curtailing users' freedom to install full-featured PC software, and subverting the rights of developers and publishers to maintain a direct relationship with their customers," Sweeney wrote on tThe Guardian.

Sweeney also blamed the Universal Windows Platform (UWP). The said programming application for Windows 10 developers allows game creators to create a "single version of a game" or any kind of software that can be used on various Microsoft devices including Windows 10 PCs, the Xbox One console and Windows smartphones and tablets.

Per another report from The Guardian, Sweeney and other developers said that the UWP is a closed platform that will give them limitations to distribute games.

Hence, the game developers still need to ask for a licensed from Microsoft to launch their game using their platforms. Also, they now have the right to control the earnings of the game developers and the game itself.
