Half of Newlyweds Do Not Have Sex on Their Wedding Night

Friends often excitedly ask newlyweds about their wedding night, expecting an equally exciting reply. But what they do not know is that sheer tiredness does not allow the couples to make love on their special first night.

A latest survey of 2,138 couple married for three years says that most of them did not get to enjoy their wedding night just because either they were too drunk or tired.

According to the poll, 52 percent of the couples confessed of not having sex on their wedding nights. Another 17 percent said that they waited for at least three days after the wedding to get between the sheets. Nearly 16 percent said that they lost interest in making out with their spouses just because the brides were too drunk and four percent said their grooms just fell asleep even before the making out session started. Around 11 percent said that they had to look after their children, if they had any.

Another reason the couples said was the constant fights during their reception that made them feel like not having sex at their wedding nights. Some said that they avoided sex because they had to travel for their honeymoon and seven percent said they partied all night during their wedding.

"The emphasis of wedding night sex for married couples is no longer a huge factor," said George Charles marketing director of Voucher Codes Pro, who commissioned the survey, according the Daily Mail. "It may be that the stress and pressure of organising a wedding takes the main priority, especially considering such a large proportion of couples have been living together for years."
