Ex-girlfriend Sophia Smith, who dated Liam Payne for two years, revealed that she knew about the One Direction singer and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini long before the relationship came out.

According to Daily Mail, Sophia Smith said that she's actually okay about Liam Payne dating Cheryl Fernandez-Versini. However, Sophia Smith expressed shock over the relationship between Liam Payne and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini becoming public. "It's so weird," Smith said. "I knew about them a little bit ago, but who thought it would actually come out?"

Long before Cheryl Fernandez-Versini came into the scene, Sophia Smith served as the inspiration for Liam Payne to create the single "Illusion." The said track came out in One Direction's album "Four."
