'Jane The Virgin' Season 2 Spoilers: Wedding Is On But Jane And Michael Might Breakup? Actors, Producers Dish On Couple's Future

The most recent episode of 'Jane The Virgin' Season 2 had Jane happily accepting Michael's marriage proposal. But while it looks like they are headed for wedded bliss, the actors and showrunner said that anything can still happen.

"I feel like I shouldn't say, but we are heading toward Jane and Michael's wedding," said producer Jennie Urman via TV Line. "Their relationship continues to have little stresses," she further confirms. "We introduce Michael's family, who maybe are not as thrilled with Jane."

Urman also told Team Raphael fans not to raise the white flag despite the upcoming wedding. "There's ups and downs and journeys to be taken with these characters," she said. "So I can't really say that that's over, but it's also not where we're at in the story."

While the statements hint of a potential strain in Jane and Michael's relationship, actress Gina Rodriguez (Jane) hopes that the couple has indeed found their forever with each other. She confessed she has always been on Team Michael. "He's so attentive, and he's fought for me for so long, and that just pulls at my heart strings," she told Entertainment Tonight.

On the other hand, Brett Dier (Michael) is setting a more realistic expectation about where their characters' romance is headed. "Nothing's official. Nothing's for sure, ever, especially with this show because they always like to make you think one thing and then turn it around," he said, per Hollywood Reporter.

It's also uncertain whether the wedding is happening at the end of Season 2, but for now Jane and Michael are on a different level in their relationship as an engaged couple. They will have to deal with newer challenges, including trust and intimacy issues. Dier also confirms Jane and Michael will be having lots of conversations about their relationship in the next few episodes.
