Kate Middleton, Prince William Skiing Holiday: Royal Family's Official Snap Revealed; Duke of Cambridge Criticized [Photos]

Kate Middleton, together with husband Prince William and children Prince George and Princess Charlotte, enjoyed their quick break at the Alpine Village of Courchevel on Wednesday. The royal family enjoyed their skiing holiday and intentionally didn't disclose their vacation to the media.

Kate Middleton and Prince William surprised the paparazzi with their official family photo, which was captured by just one Press Association photographer, who was invited by the royal couple. Duchess Kate and Prince William thoroughly chose six pictures that were given to the press for public release, according to Daily Mail.

"The family flew out to the French Alps for a long weekend away and wanted to share some images of their trip with the public," a palace insider said. However, Kate Middleton and Prince William preferred not to spill any details about their trip.

The royal couple wanted to keep everything in private and decided not to share anything about Prince George and Princess Charlotte's snow and skiing experience. However, there were some sources who revealed that Kate Middleton and Prince William were eager to teach Prince George and Princess Charlotte to ski as it was their favorite sport.

Meanwhile, the official photographs of Kate Middleton and Prince William's skiing holiday were criticized by the British Press. Prince William was accused of being a lazy worker as some saw his unwillingness to be watched by the public, Today Online reported.

In fact, one of the known tabloids in the U.K., The Sun, used the photo of Kate Middleton and Prince William while having fun in the snow in their front-page. The tabloid titled the headline, "Sloping off again... Workshy Wills takes family skiing," per Yahoo! News.

The "normally monarchist paper" also named Prince William as the "reluctant royal" after he just made 122 official engagements in 2015 while her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, was able to attend 341 rendezvous.
