'Gears of War 4' News & Update: Meet JD Fenix the Main Protagonist

As it is believed that "Gears of War 4" is coming this 2016, many are eager to know what will be the video game's plot this time. Also, fans are keen to meet the new characters "Gears of War 4" is about to introduce.

Since the coming of "Gears of War 4" is anticipated, main personalities of the title are already revealed. Hence, "Gears of War 4's" main antagonist will be pretty familiar to everyone as he has a connection to the previous "Gears of War" games.

Meet JD Fenix, the "Gears of War 4's" new hero. JD Fenix is the son of Marcus Fenix, who has been known as the "original trilogy's" central character, Screen Rant reports.

JD Fenix can be described as an all-around idealist, who tried to escape from home to become a member of the COG private army. Unfortunately, JD Fenix has to go AWOL as things didn't work out fine when an incident happened in a "classified mission."

Through that event, "Gears of War 4" game story is about to start. "Gears of War 4" is set after nearly 25 years after "Gears of War 3" occurred. 

JD Fenix will be played by Liam McIntyre, who is known as the male lead star of the "Starz" series "Spartacus." He is also identified as the Weather Wizard in "The Flash," Game Informer adds.

"It's kind of terrifying because I get to be the lead in a new era of Gears, which is unbelievable, amazing, and exciting. I'm the legacy because my dad is Marcus Fenix," Liam McIntyre said about his character as JD Fenix. "JD's a soldier and a bit of a freedom fighter, and in his heart, he's a bit of a renegade. He's different from Marcus, but he's still that heroic archetype."

 "Gears of War 4" is set to be released later this year for Xbox One.
