New Study Shows Carbs Could Cause You Lung Cancer!

A new study claims that carbohydrates are among the leading causes of lung cancer. This research started alarming people on the Internet on March 9, as carbs are usually part of a person's lifestyle, especially in America. Although there is no doubt that smoking is still the number one and most popular reason why a person could have lung cancer, researchers said that an increase intake of carbohydrates could also be the cause of this deadly disease.

In an article published by The Inquisitr, Dr. Xifeng Wu, a professor at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center led and authored this study along with other scientists. He said that when a person takes in a lot of carbohydrates as part of his or her diet, chances of having an imbalanced blood sugar could take place, which could then result to lung cancer.

This study sampled and checked both the eating lifestyle and health histories of exactly 4, 318 people in which 1,905 of them were recently diagnosed to have lung cancer. The rest of the 2,413 were very meticulous when it comes to their health. The scientists analyzed the amount of carbohydrates that each of their participants has as part of their daily diet.

U.S. News reported the result of the experiment stating that those whose eating habits include a lot of carbohydrates in their meal are at high risk of acquiring lung cancer. Smokers only get 81% risk, while carb loaders have a 91% risk of having this deadly disease. It is safe to say to be mindful of the food we eat and it is best to tone down on eating carbohydrates.

The number of people who are about to have be diagnosed with lung cancer has risen to 220,000 just this year alone according to Cancer.org. To be safe and not be a part of that statistics, balance your diet and lay off on your carb intake.
