"The Vampire Diaries" has been announced as one of the eleven CW series that are set for renewal for next season. However, rumors have it that Nina Dobrev is not, at all, happy with the news since she wanted TVD to fall flat on its face after her untimely death, which caused the drop on its ratings.
"The Vampire Diaries" renewed for another season
Rumors have it that the transfer of viewing schedule of "The Vampire Diaries" to CW's Friday lineup aimed to reach younger demographic. However, as Parent Herald previously reported, it resulted in the decrease on its ratings than when it was a part of the Thursday roster.
In fact, several fans were worried that "The Vampire Diaries" will be canceled and Season 7 would be the show's last. "I know we have a very large crew and cast of people who really want to be doing what we love on this show next year, so keep your fingers crossed," said series creator Julie Plec at the time.
However, despite the fact that "The Vampire Diaries" had lower ratings and lesser audience compared before, the show went on and CW didn't mind at all. Hence, it's quite surprising that "The Vampire Diaries" and its spinoff show "The Originals" were part of the eleven shows that are set for renewal.
Nina Dobrev surprised and appalled at "The Vampire Diaries" renewal reports
The untimely death of the character of Nina Dobrev shocked several fans since she was one of the main cast. As a matter of fact, she made "The Vampire Diaries" famous with her impressive acting prowess and growing fan base.
Celeb Dirty Laundry reported that Nina Dobrev is seething that "The Vampire Diaries" will survive another season without her. "Quitting their hit show seemed the perfect revenge to try and ruin his career which would also impact Nikki," the entertainment news outlet reported.
"No doubt Nina Dobrev was jealous that Ian Somerhalder never put a ring on her finger... But now it looks like Ian and Nikki will have the last laugh and not Nina!" However, despite her death in the popular American TV series, reports claimed that "The Originals" will be absorbing some case of "The Vampire Diaries" as it will be canceled, which now appeared to be untrue.
What fans expect right now is the joining of Nina Dobrev in "The Originals." However, everything should be taken with a grain of salt since none of these reports were made official yet.
