3 Good Reasons Why You Should Not Buy Your Child A Hoverboard; No. 2 Involves Fire And Explosion

Kids these days are so fascinated with the hoverboard since this toy started selling like pancakes late last year. For those who don't know what a hoverboard is, it is basically a scooter with a modern design. As parents, we get it that you probably would want to give this as a gift to your child as a birthday present or as a reward if they did something really good.

But before you spend hundreds of dollars for this cool toy that every kid wants to have their feet on, you should read these reasons why you shouldn't buy it for the sake of the safety of your kids. From Justin Bieber, to the boys of One Direction, hoverboards are being used by lots of celebrities that they even post their experiences with it on their social media.

That is among the reasons children are drawn to the idea that it is cool and that they too should have it. Now check out these things that would make you stop and think why these toys are not a good idea for your children.

1. Prone To Injury: In an article published by WebMD, they cited one incident that occurred to a 12-year-old boy who was given a hoverboard by his parents as a birthday gift. He then found himself at the emergency room with a fractured radius after he somersaulted and lost control while riding it. Unless you want that to happen to your child, then you are free to proceed knowing the risk.

2. These Things Could Catch Fire And Even Explode: This is a lithium battery operated toy and according to CNET, they are the reasons why a lot of hoverboards have exploded and even caused fire because those batteries tend to overheat.

3. Balance Issues: The hoverboard has a weight requirement that must be met and if the person goes over or even under the weight limit of this item, it would be hard for the hoverboard to detect their weight. In result, the user would find it hard to balance him or herself while riding it.

Consider these three things before you buy your child a hoverboard. Just because it is cool and trendy, doesn't mean it is safe.
