'Fallout 4' News & Updates: Automatron DLC Will Come Next Week

Bethesda finally announced the release date for Automatron DLC. The first DLC pack for "Fallout 4" will arrive on March 22.

The fact that the Automatron DLC for "Fallout 4" is coming has been known since about a month ago, but Bethesda waited until yesterday to reveal its release date. On the company's website, Bethesda announced that Automatron will arrive on March 22. Bethesda also published a trailer that gives gamers a preview on what to expect from the new "Fallout 4" DLC, Automatron.

According to GeekSnack, the Automatron DLC focuses on new customization options and robots. The upcoming Automatron DLC will also introduce a new storyline and a new villain called The Mechanist in "Fallout 4."

"Fallout 3" game title also had a character called The Mechanist. However, we are not sure yet if Scott "Bean" Wollinski, The Mechanist from "Fallout 3," is the same person we are going to encounter in "Fallout 4." Whether or not he is the same character, he seems more dangerous in "Fallout 4" due to his impressive army of custom robots.

The Automatron DLC also introduces a new customization system for robots. By using parts scavenged from defeated robots, players will be able to build their own mechanical companions.

Many mods are available to mix and match. In the trailer provided by Bethesda, the company showed many interesting variants in actions. The trailer also revealed a special building station for these robots, which can be placed in any settlement, akin to how Power Armor stations work.

The new customization system from the Automatron DLC is more complex. Players will be able to mix parts from multiple robots as well as various items and weapons, such as cameras or flaming swords. Customization is a very important feature in Automatron and the DLC makes the regular companions look pretty lame in comparison.

Automatron also introduces new enemies and new gear. Bethesda is adding a new saw melee weapon and lighting chain gun. The Robobrain is making an appearance in "Fallout 4" as well. The upcoming Automatron DLC for "Fallout 4" also adds some new armor for the Sole Survivor.

Bethesda will launch the Automatron DLC for Xbox, PS4 and PC on March 22. The DLC will cost $10 but for players who already have the "Fallout 4" Season Pass, all the DLC packs come for free.
