Guardians of the Galaxy 2' Cast, News & Updates: Sylvester Stallone to Star in Sequel, Character Remains a Mystery

While it has been apparent that Sylvester Stallone will star in "Guardians of the Galaxy 2," his character remains unknown. In the past few weeks, the "Creed" actor has been spotted many times on the set.

According to Cinema Blend, the actor has been spotted in the same area where "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" is being filmed. Earlier this month, Sylvester Stallone was seen holding "Guardians of the Galaxy" script in a hotel in Atlanta, Georgia where the film currently shoots. As if this isn't enough, reports said that the actor was seen filming scenes for the film.

Movie News Guide also said that Sylvester Stallone was seen on the same car with the other cast members of "Guardians of the Galaxy 2." While there was no announcement from the producers, these are more than confirmations that Sylvester Stallone will be part of the cast. However, fans of "Guardians of the Galaxy" hope that his character would be revealed soon.

While waiting for the showrunners' official announcement of Sylvester Stallone's involvement in the film, fans have started speculating what could be the actor's role. Rumor has it that Sylvester Stallone will only have a cameo role. As he was seen wearing a costume similar to what he wore as Judge Dredd in 1995, this led fans to think that he could be one of the Ravagers. The Ravagers is a group of space pirates that is led by Yondu (Michael Rooker). The uniform of a Ravager definitely fits the one that Stallone was seen wearing.

Cinema Blend further speculates that Sylvester Stallone may be the Ravager's new member as the group expanded since the first installment of "Guardians of the Galaxy." If this proves to be true, Sylvester Stallone will be the second Ravager to be added after Tommy Flanagan, who portrays Yondu's right hand. However, these are all speculations until the producers make the official announcement.

"Guardians of the Galaxy 2" will open in theaters on May 5, 2017. For now, take a look back at some scenes from the first installment of "Guardians of the Galaxy."
