Uber Introduces Food Deliver App

A new delivery food application has been recently introduced by Uber. This mobile app makes ordering the best dishes from your favorite restaurants.

Dubbed as UberEATS, this standalone app was made available on Tuesday in five cities in the United States. In a press release, Uber said the application rolled out for Android and iOS users who are based in Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Toronto. The app can be used 24 hours a day.

The company also said that residents from nearby cities like Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, Melbourne, New York, Paris, Seattle, and Washington, D.C. can also try the food delivery application. Fox Business added that the development of the company's ride application which also offered food delivery but only on a limited service.

"We learned quickly that requesting a ride and ordering a meal are two very different experiences," said UberEATS Product Manager Chetan Narain in the company's press release. "They each deserve their own home."

TechCrunch said customers would previously use the then limited UberEATS along with UberBLACK or UberX. But now the company realized that having an independent app for food delivery would be better for the customers.

Narain added that the restaurants tapped by the company in the past year wanted to extend the delivery distances and services of Uber. "[They are] pairing great food with the reliable service that people know and expect from the company," he added.

According to Android Police, the main concept of the application is to enable people to order from restaurants which do not usually deliver in the area. There is also reportedly a list of featured items from these restaurants that can be delivered instantly to users.

However, the same report noted that many Play Store users were complaining about delayed orders using the standalone application. Other problems were inaccurate open hours and bugs on the application.
