Chris Brown Leaves Rehab Facility as an Outpatient

Singer and performer Chris Brown checks out of a rehabilitation facility as an outpatient, according to People Magazine.

Brown entered into the said facility last month after his assault arrest but is still receiving treatment. "Chris is continuing his rehab program as an outpatient and is also completing his community service in the Los Angeles area. He appreciates all of your encouragement and support," says his representative.

The singer, 24, was arrested in Washington DC on October 27 after police said he punched a man in front of the W hotel situated near the White House. He appeared in court the day after and immediately checked into an unnamed rehab facility. He did this to "gain focus and insight into has past and recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point," said his rep, Nicole Perna. As of late, Brown is still on probation from his 2009 assault incident involving his ex-girlfriend Rihanna. Since then, he has had several encounters with the law, according to USA Today. His sentence included community service and a domestic violence charge that lasted for a year.

TMZ also reported that Brown's stay in the rehab facility in Malibu could have lasted for up to three months. His lawyer, Mark Geragos tells TMZ that Brown needed to get out of the facility to start the community service he is required to perform in his 2009 case against Rihanna. Previously, Brown claimed to have served hours of community service but the judge declined to accept it as valid. Thus, he was asked to do it all over again.
