Widow Sleeps with Dead Husband for a Year Before Being Caught [GRAPHIC PHOTOS]

It is tragic to lose a loved one, particularly a spouse you have been married to for many years. One woman in Brussels encountered the heart-wrenching experience, but instead of letting go of her  dead husband, she kept him in their home on their bed and continued to sleep with the dead corpse.

Marcel H. died last year at home in Brussels, Belgium in November from what is believed to have been an asthma attack. he was 79 years old, according to the Huffington Post.

His wife, ten years younger, was in such shock and despair at the loss of her loving husband that she decided to not report the death, but instead keep in the bed next to her. She continued to sleep next to her dead husband despite the smell and decomposition. The wife was not named.

Since neighbors did not report any strange activities or a missing person, the wife continued to lie next to her dead husband and keep him "alive" in that manner. His body was only discovered when the landlord noticed the couple had not paid any rent since 2012 and alerted the authorities.

However, this is not the first time a grieving spouse has not wanted to part ways with their significant other's corpse. Oddity Central reports of a man in Vietnam who dug up the corpse of his deceased wife so that he could still sleep with her every night.
