'Mass Effect: Andromeda' Developer Unveiled New IP Using a Shirt, But No One Noticed

A BioWare boss discreetly revealed details regarding their new IP during the recent Game Developers Conference. However, because of the medium that he used in doing it, people were unable to notice what it was. Apparently, it's because it's printed in the shirt that he wore, reports IGN.

BioWare Senior Director of Creative Development, Alistair McNally, revealed in a tweet that during the GDC, he wore a T-shirt that featured the name of their company's new IP. To his amazement (and to the clamor of many “Mass Effect” fans), no one noticed.

“Also it was fun to walk around GDC2016 in a t-shirt with our new IP on it and no one batted an eyelid,” McNally tweeted.

McNally's teaser caused many fans to scour for any picture during the GDC that could include him and the shirt. To date, nothing has been found. Fans also tweeted McNally, with some saying “pics or it didn't happen,” trying to get him post a photo of the shirt, but to no avail. Some, on the other hand, simply expressed their opinions about BioWare and the upcoming game “Mass Effect: Andromeda.”

According to GameSpot, BioWare's new IP was officially announced in September 2012 and is currently in development in their Edmonton office. At the time of announcement, BioWare said that the new game will be built up from the ground with “new gaming technology.”

During PAX East 2013, then BioWare producer Casey Hudson said he was hoping that the new IP will match the impact of the “Mass Effect” series, explaining that the game studio aims to tell “contemporary stories, and yet we want to build a world that is as big and as imaginative as anything we’ve ever done before.”

Electronic Arts, which owns BioWare, hasn't given any detail regarding release dates, but mentioned that they do have something they are working on.

"We've got a couple of things up our sleeve that we haven't talked about yet but you'll probably see them teased over the next six months," EA CFO Blake Jorgensen said.
