'Harry Potter And The Cursed Child' Play Date, News & Update: Sonia Friedman Reveals How Prequel Is Made

Sonia Friedman, the producer of the upcoming play "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child," revealed how the prequel is made into a production. With the upcoming two-part West End stage play and launching of the book, "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" will surely be the next big hit.

According to Snitch Seeker, the actual story of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" is actually written by Jack Thorne with the collaboration, of course, by the "Harry Potter" author herself, J.K. Rowling. "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" is the original idea of the producers, Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender, who proposed their concept to J.K. Rowling to create the "Harry Potter" sequel.

Sonia Friedman along with her partner, Colin Callender, originally planned to bring "Harry Potter" on stage. However, the producers are eyeing to create a different story but will still continue the tale of "Harry Potter."

Sonia Friedman also revealed that J.K. Rowling is very critical and involved in "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" even if she didn't personally write the story. In fact, when J.K. Rowling said yes to their proposal, Sonia Friedman introduced her right away to John Tiffany.

J.K. Rowling knows John Tiffany by being the director of the stage play, "Black Watch." According to Sonia Friedman, her most important job as a producer is to present the director with the writer and her work will then be easier.

Meanwhile, it looks like everything is set as the official Twitter page of the upcoming theater play; "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child," shared their first "full cast" photo together. The snap featured a group of 56 actors together with the creative and production teams as well as J.K. Rowling, Daily Mail reported.

"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" will be led by Jamie Parker as Harry Potter, Noma Dumezweni as Hermione Granger and Paul Thornley as Ron Weasley. "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" will start on July 30 at the London's Palace Theatre while the "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" book is expected to launch on July 31.
