Next James Bond News & Update: Henry Cavill, Tom Hiddleston And Other Frontrunners As New Agent 007 - Is Your Fave On The List?

It seems after Daniel Craig hinted that he's no longer thinking about playing James Bond, every other British actor has been gunning for the iconic role. And while there has been no word or official confirmation from the studio about a potential James Bond replacement, there are certainly odds and favorites on who should play the part next.

The latest actor to express interest in playing the next James Bond is "Batman V Superman" actor Henry Cavill. In a recent guest appearance on "The Graham Norton Show," Cavill said he'd be up for the part even if he's going to be busy playing Superman for a while. "Obviously I'm very busy with the Superman stuff but if there were any windows and they wanted me to do that kind of role it would be great and I would love to do it," he said, per Metro.

On the heels of the success of "The Night Manager" TV series, its star Tom Hiddleston said he could play the next James Bond, too. His character on the new show has shades of similarities with Agent 007 and the actor knows that all too well, as Parent Herald previously reported. "There are similarities in so far as Pine and Bond are granted a license above and beyond the law to do bad things for the greater good," he said.

Also in the running as the next James Bond is Idris Elba and his casting could usher in a growing trend for needing to diversify the entertainment industry. But the actor states that there has been no negotiations at all. "I'm not speaking to the James Bond people, and they're not speaking to me," he said, per Just Jared.

A new name for the next James Bond has cropped up in recent weeks in the person of James Norton, who said he'd think long and hard about playing the role if it was offered to him. There are a lot of advantages and disadvantages to becoming James Bond, but Norton is thrilled to have his name up on the fan's list. "It's lovely and very bizarre and flattering to be included in that conversation," the actor said, per Contact Music.
