'Transformers 5' Release Date, News & Update: Will Shia LaBeouf Return In the Series?

Perhaps not everyone loves Shia LaBeouf but "Transformers" fans should admit that the actor is a key character in the popular autobot franchise, "Transformers." Although Shia LaBeouf has already distanced himself from the hit series, some fans want him back.

Michael Bay told Inquirer that the reason they removed LaBeouf in the "Transformers" franchise is due to the script. He disclosed that they wanted to reinvent the franchise, so they recast. In fact, the production wanted to do "Transformers 4" with another kid but he declined.

"No, because everyone's going to compare that kid to Shia, who's like magic lightning in a bottle. He's one of a kind!" Bay explained.

Earlier this year, "Transformers" director Bay told Collider that "Transformers 5" is his last. Bay explained that he will be making "13 Hours" and it seems that he will be doing more independent projects in the future.

Since "Transformers 5" is his last, there are chances that the original lead star of the franchise may also return. Per Design & Trend, Megan Fox is set to reprise her role as Mikaela Banes and her character is very much involved with LaBeouf's.

Fox is LaBeouf's love interest in the first two "Transformers" films. If she returns in "Transformers 5" seeing LaBeouf will complete the picture.

Why should Shia LaBeouf return in "Transformers 5?"

Design & Trend notes that LaBeouf has changed. The actor shows versatility in his recent films, including "Man Down" and "Fury." He also gains popularity for his funny and motivating "Just Do It" YouTube videos.

Apart from this, Shia LaBeouf is obviously concerned on the "Transformers" franchise following his heated comment about it.

"Bumblebee never sounds real, it's just a fucking name. The name alone you can never make real, no matter how much you put into it because on the other side you have a director who doesn't believe it either," LaBeouf told The Hollywood Reporter.

His remarks show how he loves the "Transformers" franchise to be better. His words depict how he cares about the quality of the film.
