Zayn Malik Reveals Which One Direction Member He's Still In Contact With

Former One Direction member Zayn Malik left the band to start on his own career path. During his interview with a magazine, Zayn Malik revealed the One Direction member he's still keeping in touch with.

Zayn Malik openly talked about his relationship with other One Direction members on most of his interviews as per MTV. Malik would then consistently share that he no longer maintains a close relationship with his former One Direction bandmates.

Though his friendship with former bandmates has been set aside, Zayn Malik shared his thoughts on which One Direction member he's still close with. During his interview with NME, Zayn Malik revealed that he's still in contact with Liam Payne.

"I'm still probably the closest to Liam," Malik told NME. "We talk on the phone. He congratulated me on my single, which was nice. I congratulated him on his Brit Award. It was a good chat. We haven't met up in a long time so we want to meet up."

Zayn Malik openly talked about his relationship with his One Direction bandmates and dished out that they're not in good terms. Though there may be a slight tension between Zayn Malik and the rest of the guys from One Direction, Zayn cited that he did try to reach out.

"I tried to have contact but nobody's reached out. So... whatever," Zayn told NME. Aside from talking about his previous ties with the rest of his bandmates, Zayn also opened up about his experience with One Direction. He then cleared out that leaving the group is one of his stepping stone in discovering his musical identity. 

"You can be in the eye of it if you choose to be or you can let it overwhelm you," Zayn Malik stated. "I've kept a bit of my sanity, I know how the media works. I think that's why it came across as being mysterious or detached. I just didn't want to get caught up in something that wasn't real."
