'Justice League' Release Date, News & Update: Fans Want Zack Snyder Out; Two Petitions To Boot Director Raised - Will It Work?

Fans of the DC Cinematic Universe are concerned that director Zack Snyder is going to butcher the rest of the franchise after watching "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice." Two petitions have been lodged to remove the director from future DC movie projects, especially the "Justice League" movie that Snyder is set to do next.

The first petition to "Boot Zack Snyder off of Justice League" was posted on Change.Org and has reached nearly 8,000 signatures in a matter of hours. "He's had two chances now to adapt DC characters and has produced middling results," wrote Bryan Cruz who launched the petition.

The second petition calls to "Remove Zack Snyder from the DCEU" and it's almost near its goal of receiving the numbers. "He's a great visual artist, but cannot tell a good story. The only chance of redemption for DCEU is to hire a director who's not as polarizing as Snyder, who understands the characters well, doesn't make them roam away from their mythos and balance the tone of the future movies," Taufique Radhakrishnan wrote in his petition.

One biggest criticism about Zack Snyder is that he hates Superman and has deconstructed the characterization of the hero when he did "Man of Steel" and "Batman V Superman." His version is different from what most people have come to love about the superhero with the clean-cut Boy Scout image and his ideas for "Justice League" will further explore a different and darker angle for the character, as Parent Herald previously reported.

Fans hope Warner Bros. will listen to their call to fire Zack Snyder from the "Justice League" projects, but the move might be too late as the film is set to roll the cameras this April to meet its November 2017 playdate. Snyder's wife, Deborah, who also works in the production, confirmed that they will be on location in Leavesden in England. The cast and crew will also be shooting scenes in Iceland and Scotland, per Collider.  The Snyders are also going to do the second "Justice League" movie set for release in 2019.
