'Legends of Tomorrow' Season 1 Spoilers, News & Update: 'Suits' Actor Patrick J. Adams to Guest Star; Producer Teases More Time-Travel Episodes

"Suits" actor Patrick J. Adams has scored a spot as a guest star on CW's "Legends of Tomorrow."

It was previously rumored that "Legends of Tomorrow" will introduce a mysterious DC character in the upcoming season finale. Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that Adams will portray said character, who will appear in the season finale titled "Legendary" and in the season 2 premiere episode. There is potential that the character will appear in more episodes in the future.

Adams' role in the series is still unknown, but a source said that the 34-year-old actor will play a "fun character the fans will love," EW reported.

More Time-Travel Episodes

"Legends of Tomorrow" was recently renewed for a second season. At this year's WonderCon event, producer Marc Guggenheim revealed that Jonathan Schaech will reprise his role as Jonah Hex in the upcoming episodes.

"He's in episode 11, I can tease that," Guggenheim said, as quoted by SlashFilm. "He's terrific. Jonathan is an amazing Jonah Hex. I would say very, very faithful to the comics incarnation with a touch more sass, a little bit more attitude. That might have had something to do with the fact that I wrote episode 11 and I can't seem to write characters without sass. But he's great and watching his interactions with Rip [Hunter] are gold. They're just so much fun. Jonathan and Arthur [Darvill] make a great team."

Guggenheim also shared that the series will continue featuring heavy time-travel episodes.

"To use the 'Doctor Who' term, we have our most timey wimey episodes coming up," he said, as reported by SlashFilm. "Episode 12 in particular is a crazy timey wimey episode. It's the kind of story, quite frankly, that we couldn't tell if the raison d'etre of the show is how do we very anally retentive make sure that every rule of time travel works? Because the truth is, it's a fool's errand because anyone who has seen any time travel movie or TV show knows, it never lines up perfectly. It's just impossible. I don't care what the project is. We're trying to be responsible. At the same time, we want to tell the best story possible. You'll see by the end of the year there's a lot of things that do line up."

Guggenheim said that viewers will learn more information about the Time Masters, an organization in the future maintaining the timeline's safety. The producer assured fans that "by the end of the season you'll get a nice definitive explanation of everything," the news outlet added.

"Legends of Tomorrow" airs on Thursdays at 8 PM ET on The CW.
