For her April Fool's Day prank, singer Gwen Stefani posted a photo hinting that she is pregnant with Blake Shelton's baby. Though it was aimed at soliciting funny reactions from the public, a lot expressed their dismay on the former "The Voice" judge's idea of a joke.

On her Instagram page, the 46-year-old performer posted a photo of an ultrasound that came with the caption, "It's a girl gx." It was, apparently, an April Fool's joke, since she was recently seen without any signs of a baby bump.

E! News said that her social media post prompted several fans to believe she was pregnant with boyfriend Blake Shelton's baby. On the other hand, some onlookers were quick to say that it was nothing but an April Fool's Day joke.

"[Gwen's] having a baby?" was the question of one Instagram commenter. To which another user responded, "I'm pretty sure it was just an April Fool's prank."

But it surely did not amuse everyone, as per Mirror, which noted that the post did not appear funny at all. "For people who cannot conceive or have trouble conceiving or who have miscarried you should never joke about pretending to be pregnant and blasting it all over the world," one comment read. "I figured you would have more respect seeing you are a mother."

Many others agreed and highlighted that pregnancy should never be used as a prank especially from someone like Stefani. "This is some woman's dream. I expected better from you," another Instagram user said.

With many expressing their disappointment on the act, one fan stood up and educated the singer, saying that the "stunt" is something that is done only by a person seeking attention. "You are more clever, creative and wittier than this," a fan told Stefani.

The singer started dating Blake Shelton late last year. They were seen in public gatherings before they admitted they were dating. Stefani and Shelton both ended their marriages last year with Gavin Rossdale and Miranda Lambert, respectively.
