Carolers Surround the Home of a Dying Eight-Year Old Girl, Fulfills Her Christmas Wish

An eight-year old girl who is dying from a rare form of childhood cancer was able to surround her home with thousands of carolers as one of her final wishes, the Daily Mail reports.

Delaney Brown suffers from acute myeloid leukemia with monosomy 7 and was just given by her doctors a few days to live. Since then, she has already spoken with pop star Taylor Swift, the day after she turned eight and is continuously fulfilling other items on her bucket list. Part of her list includes surrounding her home with thousands of carolers who will be singing Christmas songs for her. On her Team Laney Facebook page was a picture of Delaney giving two thumbs up with the caption: "I can hear you now!! Love you!"

Brown's family said: "Today we were told the worst news of our lives. Laney has 70 percent cancer cells in her blood. If they would treat the cancer the virus that she has would kill her. And if they treat the virus the cancer will kill her." Delaney's rare condition is suffered by only ten children a year in the United States. As of late, she has already been through five rounds of radiation and a stem cell transplant. The Make-A-Wish Foundation helped Delaney fulfill some of the items on her bucket list, specifically connecting her with Taylor Swift.

"Laney was so nervous to talk to her because she is such a 'famous celebrity," Jennifer Brown wrote on Facebook. "I was actually worried that when Taylor Facetimed her that she would be too scared to talk but Taylor was fabulous! She really engaged Laney in conversation. Laney lit up and had a huge smile on her face. I can't thank Taylor enough."
