McDonald's Employee Site Unveils Truth about the Fast Food Chain

An employee site for McDonald's currently contains unfavorable information about the fast food chain, according to NBC.

"Fast foods are quick, reasonably priced and readily available alternatives to home cooking. While convenient and economical for a busy lifestyle, fast foods are typically high in calories, fat, saturated fat, sugar, and salt, and may put people at risk for becoming overweight," one post on the website reads. Another post labels a particular meal with cheeseburger and fries as the "unhealthy choice" and even notes that it has become ever more challenging to eat healthy when visiting the fast food place.

Another post writes: "It's hard to eat a healthy diet when you eat at fast food restaurants often" adding that large portions of food make it easier to overindulge. The site also advises readers to limit their consumption of fries. "In general, people with high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease must be very careful about choosing fast food because of its high fat, salt, and sugar levels." The various posts appear to be content provided by a third party vendor and McDonald's is currently looking into the matter.

Last month, the company detailed its tipping advice for workers, many of whom receive only around minimum wage. It listed expensive suggestions for tipping, personal fitness trainers and pool cleaners. McDonald's said the post was a third-party material and said that it would "continue to review the resource and will ask the vendor to change as needed." McResource Line is nominally a place for employees but it can also be visited by those who will register by providing a username and a working email address.
