'Final Fantasy XV' Might See More Collector's Editions, Says Tabata

"Final Fantasy XV" apparently has kept fans waiting for a long time that when preorders became available, stocks for the Collector's Edition quickly ran out. Good thing is that Square Enix might produce more of it.

Square Enix only had a meager 30,000 pieces of the "Final Fantasy XV Ultimate Collector's Edition" at their disposal, and to the dismay of those who were unable to preorder it, it quickly sold out, reports Attack of The Fanboy. However, game director Hajime Tabata has some kind of good news for all fans: they just might produce more of the "Ultimate Collector's Edition" in the near future.

The reveal came by way of a Twitter post (in Japanese), wherein Tabata said that as they have received a huge number of orders, the stocks quickly ran out. But should the company make more copies or sets of the Collector's Edition, he'll let everyone know.

The "Final Fantasy XV Ultimate Collector's Edition" is packed with items that fans of the upcoming game will definitely like (and most likely brag about to friends). It contains the game, a hardcover 192-page artbook, two exclusive steelbooks containing "Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV," a special soundtrack and "Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV," an exclusive Play Arts Kai Noctis figure, some in-game item packs (which includes a travel pack, camera kit, angler set and gourmand set) as well as some bonus content ("Masamune" sword, "Royal Raiment" outfit and "Platinum Leviathan" skin for Noctis' car).

Tabata also mentioned that they will be serious against scalpers, who would mainly purchase several "Ultimate Collector's Edition" packs only to have them resold at a higher price when Square Enix doesn't have stocks anymore. He said that a scalper's orders will be cancelled.

It seems that Tabata and Square Enix are betting high on "Final Fantasy XV."

"What we really wanted to do with ["Final Fantasy XV"] is return to the roots of the series and to put everything we've got into creating what we think is the best ultimate Final Fantasy game we can," Tabata told The Verge in an interview.
