'DWTS' Season 22 News & Update: Mischa Barton Breaks Silence On Elimination, Tension With Partner Artem Chigvintsev

Mischa Barton is the latest celebrity to exit "Dancing with the Stars" Season 22 (DWTS). Judges booted the former "The O.C." actress and her partner Artem Chigvintsev following three weeks of competing. The tension was evident between them.

Barton and Chigvintsev opened up to E! Online about their experience and admitted that they have yet to hit their stride as a dancing couple. The two would often butt heads while rehearsing and they were just beginning to find their pace as partners days before they were eliminated.

"I think we're the only couple in the competition who had first tough two weeks and then you're kind of gasping for the air of the change," Chigvintsev told the outlet. On the other hand, Barton admitted she didn't realize that DWTS was going to be intense.

Barton regularly blogs about her experience on DWTS and this week, she acknowledged that as much as it became a challenge, being on the show was a fun and learning experience. "I am a perfectionist, so it has been hard for me to struggle at times during this process," Barton writes via People. "But Artem has been working with me on letting things go and just focusing on having fun."

For their final performance, the pair danced samba to Miley Cyrus' "Party in the USA" for the night's theme, "Most Memorable Year." In the video clip to introduce their sequence, Barton chose 2008 as her most memorable as it was "a year of change and putting myself in a better place." This was right around the time she left the widely popular series "The O.C," per Daily Mail.

Meanwhile, despite being eliminated, Barton received support from her "The O.C." co-stars Peter Gallagher and Rachel Bilson. "In my book, she's already succeeded," Gallagher said, per a separate E! Online report. On the other hand, Bilson gave her TV bestie a shout out on Instagram.
