Funniest and Weirdest Ways of Getting Fitter This Year May Be Highly Effective

Health experts have unveiled a number of funny-sound and weird-looking exercises for the New Year that claim are effective in achieving steady weight loss and improved health, the Daily Mail reports.

The latest fitness trends will rely more on teamwork and will include warrior dances, intense high-kicking routines, martial arts moves and pushups with a dog on your back. Personal trainer Cornel Chin and fitness columnist Gillian Reeves give their verdicts on which workouts everyone will be talking about and hopefully adhere to this year.

Nubeginnings Paw Camp is a boutique fitness camp for dogs and their masters. "Working out with dogs kills two birds with one stone," said Victoria Willis, founder of Nubeginnings residential course. "A little canine company and encouragement is excellent for humans who aren't keen on a training regime." The boot camp-type of workout can help address obesity problems among dog owners and dogs and may help in treating diabetes and heart problems.

Slim in Six is an at-home workout program which claims that you can get in shape in just six weeks. "The trend for at-home workouts shows no sign of abating," says Chin. "Slim in Six is huge in the US and taking off in other parts of the world. The program consists of three sections that target different body parts for 30 minutes a day."

The Post-Fonda Workout also known as Burn 360 is the newest all-over body-conditioning workout inspired by Jane Fonda's 'bums and tums' classes years ago. "Burn 360 is based around stretching out all the tissue that surrounds and connects the muscles," says Reeve's the class creator. "It gives definition and muscle tone as well as aid in improving posture.
