'Red Dead Redemption 2' Release Date, News & Update: Franchise 'A Recurring Nightmare'; GTA Producer Sues Rockstar Games

Many are waiting for the release date of "Red Dead Redemption 2." Unfortunately, Rockstar Games, the developer behind the game is in the midst of a legal battle, will it affect the title's progress?

Hardcore "GTA" fans surely know the Houser brothers, Dan and Sam, as well as, producer Leslie Benzies. The three are a household name among gamers.

"Red Dead Redemption" A Recurring Nightmare

The development of "Red Dead Redemption" didn't run as smooth as its success. In fact, in 2009, Sam Houser became anxious that "RDR" was not in good shape that he emailed Leslie Benzies.

"The ups and downs are VERY extreme. We have to fix this. Quickly. Help! I'm freaking!" Sam Houser wrote in an email to Benzies. "This [RDR] is a (recurring) nightmare. But one i/we need to get out of. I have problems with the camera all over the place. So much so, that I can't be rational or specific about it. The darkness!!!" he sent another email the following day, asking Benzies to help him get it fixed.

After Benzies stepped in to help Sam Houser with his complaints in "Red Dead Redemption," Rockstar San Diego completed the work. It was a huge hit when it arrived in 2010, GameSpot reported. In fact, many are looking forward to "Red Dead Redemption 2."

Leslie Benzies Fired, Sues Rockstar Games

Despite "Red Dead Redemption's" success, the relationship among the people within Rockstar was a mess. In a January report, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed that Benzies is no longer part of Rockstar. "He's decided not to return to Rockstar Game," he said pertaining to Benzie's 17-month sabbatical per Polygon.

However, Benzies had something else to say. According to the producer, he attempted to return to work on April 1, 2015, but his key had been deactivated. The building security allowed him to get in but the Rockstar North office manager ordered him to leave without any reason.

Benzies is now suing Rockstar Games owner, Take-Two Interactive for $150 million in unpaid royalties. Take-Two filed a counter-suit.

Despite the legal battles the company is in, "Red Dead Redemption 2" is expected in E3 per Vine Report.

Will Take-Two Interactive and Benzies settle the matter? Will this affect the progress of "Red Dead Redemption 2?" What do you think? Share your thoughts below.
