Apple fans and customers have been waiting for the arrival of MacBook Pro 2016 and MacBook Air 2016. New reports suggest that the new Apple laptops will be coming soon.

MacBook Pro 2016 And MacBook Air 2016 Arriving Soon

MacBook Pro and MacBook Air are due for an upgrade this year. In fact, many expected to see the new lines of MacBook last March during Apple's Fall event. Unfortunately, to the dismay of many, the anticipated laptops did not show up.

However, it will not take long for MacBook Pro 2016 and MacBook Air 2016 to see the light of day. BGR reported that the ultra-thin MacBooks will be arriving in the second half of the year. The new model of MacBook Pro and MacBook Air are expected to arrive in June when the Cupertino-based tech company hosts its annual Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).

Suppliers Compete

According to Digitimes, there is now a tight competition among Apple's suppliers. The Taiwanese part makers are seeing a growing competition for the components they provide for the company.

For instance, Amphenol has joined Apple's supplier for hinges along with Shin Zu Shing (SZS) and Jarllytec. Also, the China-based Desay and Sunwoda Electronics compete for battery pack orders.

OS X Rebranding

MacRumors reported that Apple debuted two new operating systems, namely tvOS and watchOS. Both share the same naming convention with iOS. This triggers the reports that OS X is due for a rebranding.

The operating system will probably undergo a name change to MacOS. At the time, Apple remains tight-lipped about the name of their upcoming Mac operating system.

However, their website suggests that Apple is considering MacOS. In fact, the word MacOS was mentioned alongside tvOS, watchOS and iOS in Apple's recent environmental report when it discussed the products' power consumption.

Do you want Apple to rebrand OS X? Is MacOS fine with you? Are you positive that MacBook Pro 2016 and MacBook Air 2016 will finally see the light of day in June? Share your thoughts below.
