Dylan Farrow Opens Up About Alleged Sexual Abuse, Woody Allen Continues to Deny Claims

Dylan Farrow, adopted daughter of the now separated Woody Allen and Mia Farrow, has taken to The New York Times to detail allegations of sexual abuse by Allen.

In the early 90s, the news first broke that Allen had been accused of inappropriately touching Dylan, who was only 7 years old at the time. Allen was never prosecuted and has continued to deny the claims through the years. All the while, Dylan has not written about it publicly - until now.

"What's your favorite Woody Allen movie?" she begins, before proceeding to detail an event that goes beyond inappropriate touching.

"He told me to lay on my stomach and play with my brother's electric train set," she writes."Then he sexually assaulted me. He talked to me while he did it, whispering that I was a good girl, that this was our secret, promising that we'd go to Paris and I'd be a star in his movies. I remember staring at that toy train, focusing on it as it traveled in its circle around the attic. To this day, I find it difficult to look at toy trains."

The letter comes just weeks after Allen received a Golden Globe award for lifetime achievement - an event which stirred a discussion that had, in many ways, died down.

Among those take to Twitter and express their disapproval were Mia and Ronan Farrow.

"Time to grab some ice cream & switch over to #GIRLS," Mia tweeted as Allen's tribute started.

Ronan, son of Allen and Mia, was more direct.

"Missed the Woody Allen tribute - did they put the part where a woman publicly confirmed he molested her at age 7 before or after Annie Hall?"

According to Dylan, however, the event was something of a breakthrough for her.

She wrote: "That he got away with what he did to me haunted me as I grew up. I was stricken with guilt that I had allowed him to be near other little girls ... Last week, Woody Allen was nominated for his latest Oscar. But this time, I refuse to fall apart."

Sony Pictures Classics, which distributes Allen's films, has stood by the actor.

"We have had a long, productive and rewarding relationship with Mr. Allen," SPC said in a statement. "This is a very complicated situation and a tragedy for everyone involved. Mr. Allen has never been charged in relationship to any of this, and therefore deserves our presumption of innocence."

Allen has responded to the recent letter by Dylan, calling the accusations "untrue and disgraceful."
