Sony PlayStation 4.5 Games

According to The Verge, game publishers are obligated to create PlayStation 4 titles that have a "base" mode to be played on the regular PlayStation 4 console, starting in October. The game should also have "Neo" mode to allow the gamers to experience the new features of the upgraded PlayStation 4.5's "graphical quality" and improved frame rates.

Game publishers and developers can also make their old titles to have "Neo" mode. With the help of the game patches, previous labels can be played and run better on PlayStation 4.5.

Also, games that will be out in late September should be equipped with a "day-one patch" that is ready to use that will make them playable on "Neo" mode. However, PlayStation 4.5 might not be released until October, as Sony makes sure that all games are ready before they introduce the upgraded unit.

Sony PlayStation 4 Remains

PlayStation 4.5 will not replace the current PlayStation 4. This is good news for those who feel like they don't need the Sony PlayStation 4.5, since the PlayStation 4 will remain in the market along with the upgraded PlayStation 4.5, as per Game Spot.

Sony will not let the publishers and developers to create games or "unlocks" for "Neo" mode alone as every title has to run for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4.5. This also means that the Sony PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4.5 will have the same peripheral support, like VR modes.
