MacBook Pro 2016 Release Date, News Update: New Laptop Will Feature New GPUs; Apple Should Have Upgraded The MacBook Pro NOT MacBook

There is no doubt that consumers are looking forward to MacBook Pro 2016. The anticipated laptop is long overdue. However, new reports suggest that the new MacBook Pro will be arriving in June with updated GPUs.

MacBook Pro 2016 Will Include Upgraded GPUs

MacWorld reported that AMD and NVIDIA are already working on new GPU products, which will be introduced this year. However, even before it hits the market, there are speculations that these new GPUs will make their way to MacBook Pro 2016.

According to the report, AMD is planning to release GPUs based on Global Foundries 14 nm FinFet processor node while NVIDIA is releasing new GPUs based on the slightly larger 16nm FinFET Plus processor node. Both are anticipated to bring significant improvement in graphics performance, especially when it comes to hard core gaming on Mac.

Apple Should Have Updated MacBook Pro 2016 Instead Of MacBook

Meanwhile, Nate Swanner from The Next Web, believes that the Cupertino-based tech giant should have updated MacBook Pro instead of their newest line of laptop, MacBook. "I hate to say it, but I have to: Apple updated the wrong MacBook. While I love the 12-inch MacBook - and enjoy the recently updated specs - it's not what we needed. We need a new MacBook Pro," Swanner wrote.

Parent Herald previously reported that MacBook will sport the latest processor and will come with better battery life. Due to the updates and attention Apple showered to MacBook, there are rumors that the new line of laptop will kill the MacBook Air line up.

According to Swanner, the last meaningful update for MacBook Pro was three years ago, when it released Retina for the 13-inch MacBook Pro with a spec overhaul. Due to the long timeline, fans have high expectations to MacBook Pro 2016.

However, as the report said, MacBook Pro is "on life support." Although many believe that MacBook Pro is a powerful laptop, the updates in the past years are not powerful enough to convince many professionals that the updates were good.

Do you agree that Apple should have updated MacBook Pro instead of MacBook? At the time, Apple remains mum MacBook Pro 2016's release date, but many believe that it will arrive in June during the WWDC.
