'Kingdom Hearts 3' Release Date, News & Update: Disney Has Once Considered Gargoyles For The Title; Game Delayed Again

"Kingdom Hearts 3" is one of the most anticipated games for this year. The title is expected to feature several Disney characters including Elsa from "Frozen." However, aside from this, according to reports, "Gargoyles" was once set to join "Kingdom Hearts 3."

"Gargoyles," the 1990s animated series produced by Walt Disney Television Animation and Buena Vista Television was once considered to be among the crossovers in "Kingdom Hearts 3" per Gaming Bolt. However, based on Greg Weisman's statement at the MomoCon 2015 in Atlanta, Georgia the "Gargoyles" and "Kingdom Hearts 3" crossover is not happening anymore.

"That's been discussed, and I'd love it--it's not up to me. [...] When I knew people who were involved [that] tried to push it, there was a point where I thought we were getting close on Kingdom Hearts...and then the guys I knew who were working on it got fired," Weisman said. "I'd be very open to it, but obviously I don't even work at Disney anymore."

For gamers who love "Gargoyles," seeing it in "Kingdom Hearts 3" will surely be a treat. Unfortunately, the crossover will not be happening. But this should not stop fans from loving "Kingdom Hearts 3" because the title will arrive with several characters.

Parent Herald previously reported that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will include Elsa from "Frozen," "Iron Man," Darth Vader from "Star Wars," and Captain Jack Sparrow from "Pirates of the Carribean." It will also feature Snow White and the seven dwarves, Peter Pan, Mulan, Lion King, Hunch Back of Notre Dame and more.

"Kingdom Hearts 3" Delayed Again

Ecumenical News reported that "Kingdom Hearts 3" is delayed again. It will not be arriving this year, but will be pushed back in 2017. This report springs from Quinton Flynn's tweet that he has not started any recording for "Kingdom Hearts 3" yet.
