'X-Men: Apocalypse' Spoilers: Bryan Singer Talks About Wolverine's Role; Has Hugh Jackman Been Replaced?

The last shot of the final trailer for the 20th Century Fox superhero movie, "X-Men: Apocalypse," showed Wolverine's arm and claws, but not Hugh Jackman himself. For this reason, fans are now wondering if Hugh Jackman has already been replaced with a new Wolverine actor. Director Bryan Singer's recent comments about the Wolverine teaser will only add fuel to the fire.

The "X-Men: Apocalypse" director added that the intense Wolverine scene that was teased in the final trailer fits in with the past X-Men movies but is also the birth of a brand new direction for the legendary character. Bryan Singer says that Wolverine's role is not insignificant nor is it just a glorified cameo appearance.

These statements from Singer have led fans to speculate that the reason why only the arm and claws of the character were shown in the latest trailer is because a new Wolverine actor has been cast in "X-Men: Apocalypse." Hugh Jackman -- who has played the iconic role for 16 years already --- has already announced that his last appearance as Wolverine will be "Wolverine 3," to be directed by James Mangold and stars Patrick Stewart as Professor X, according to Screen Rant.

Is it possible that we will have two actors playing the role of Wolverine -- Hugh Jackman as an older Logan in "Wolverine 3" and another actor in "X-Men: Apocalypse"? It is definitely not out of the realm of possibility since Patrick Stewart will be appearing as Professor X in "Wolverine 3" and James McAvoy is also Professor X in Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse."
